Table 47 was shot in 19 days spread over 8 weeks. Our main set was a wonderful bistro. The owners let us use it on Sundays and Mondays, the days they were closed. They didn’t expect a small army every one of those days or our moving almost every table and anything that wasn’t nailed down to get work space. They didn’t expect their skylights and windows to be covered with heavy black plastic so we could control the light. As time went on, everyone at the restaurant got into it. The owners were extras in one scene. They turned off noisy equipment so our sound people could record the dialogue. They moved tables and chairs with us. On summer days under hot lights, the food used as props attracted flies. They provided the fly swatters! In a word, they were terrific. We couldn’t have done it without them. And the best news was, we didn’t break anything!
